Sonlight is looking to combine several ministry areas for full-time positions that will join our gifted staff to serve our active congregation and community beyond.

Youth/Student Ministry
The primary focus of the Youth Pastor/Director at Sonlight is to disciple students in the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that they may develop a deep love for Jesus Christ, a place within the church, glorify God, and enjoy Him forever.

Primary Job Responsibilities: Middle and High School Ministry
  • Recruit, cultivate, and equip Youth Ministry Leadership Teams and volunteers for Middle and High School Youth Groups.• Lead the YMLT in planning discipleship and fellowship opportunities for Middle and High School Youth Groups.
  • Connect with and develop relationships with students that foster discipleship.
  • Visit local schools for the purpose of availability and formulating relationships.
  • Promote and facilitate mission opportunities locally, regionally, and globally.
  • In partnership with Staff and others, develop an annual financial plan and budget.
  • Be an advocate among the Staff and congregation for students and student ministries.

Family/Community Life
The primary focus of the Family Life Pastor/Director at Sonlight is to encourage, equip and disciple Young Adults and Families.  The objective is to see Young Adults and Families develop a deep, personal love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and be equipped to live every day at home, work, and church as faithful and joyful followers of Jesus.

Primary job responsibilities:
  • Partner with Young Adults to develop discipleship opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and support to Men’s and Women’s ministry leaders.
  • Engage in congregational pastoral care as needs arise.
  • Coordinate and organize discipleship opportunities that meet the emerging needs offamilies.
  • Coordinate and oversee adult small group ministries.
  • Develop and oversee adult/family content for Encounter nights.

The primary focus of the Worship Pastor/Director of Sonlight is to help lead the congregation in worship that is Christ-centered, God glorifying, and reflects the gifts of God’s people. The Worship Pastor/Director oversees all volunteers involved in worship including the audio-visual team.

Primary job responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with pastor and worship volunteers to craft biblical worship services which includes planning, communication, preparation of participants, and rehearsals.
  • Participate with others in leading worship for Sunday services.
  • Recruit and help develop musicians, vocalists, and other worship participants, including audio-visual technicians.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of livestream, recordings, and podcasts of worship services.
  • Ensure that schedules are maintained for worship leaders, participants, and A-V volunteers.
  • Partner with other staff in developing children and youth specific worship opportunities as needed.

The primary focus of the Outreach Pastor/Director of Sonlight is to equip and assist the Sonlight congregation in developing relationships within the community and beyond that enable us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Essential job responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight and leadership for all outreach ministries.
  • Recruit, train, and educate volunteers to actively engage in outreach ministries.
  • Develop resources for individual and small group study on outreach/evangelism.
  • Promote opportunities for the Sonlight community to engage in local, regional, and global mission opportunities.
  • Intentionally follow up with non-member individuals or families who participate in Sonlight ministries.
  • Develop and lead a congregational approach to engaging and enfolding new attenders and members.
  • Participate and help to provide leadership to the Sonlight Missions Committee.
